From 2021 High Point Market
New furniture finish trends. You have questions: Are today’s wood finishes staying gray? Are they going to dark finishes. Are light finishes the hot new trend? YES. YES. And YES. And that is great news. There is no one dominant wood finish trend. There are several powerful (and beautiful) new looks to work with.
WOOD FINISH TREND: FINISH COLLECTIONS
This first group of finishes comes from Vanguard’s new Cove Collection. Cove is so new that there are few images available. But the finish colors and textures are wonderful! It is a collection of rich hues that begin with the black of Film Noir. Then rich brown hues from Appalachian through Summit to Truffle. Lighter woods from Pebble Path to Cascade to three whites that blend wonderfully with all of the above.
The next finishes are shown on Vanguard’s Ridge Collection. Again you see a wide presentation of finishes designed to work together. You can select two finishes on some pieces to give a more dimensional look. Another benefit to a finish collection: your room takes on a “collected” look. You avoid the sense that you bought a group. And given the customization… that is absolutely true.
Switch it up to one of the hot new light wood finishes: Navajo.
The following hue palette of wood finishes are featured on Vanguard’s Dune collection. Some are the same as the two previous collections. These casually elegant tones are highlighted with elegant details like metal ferrules. This is a great look. It is amazing how this wood finish choice takes the same furniture design into a completely new style statement!
Now take a look how the finish change affects the look. Above is the Sugar Coat finish and below the Sunwashed finish.
This time show the Italian Walnut finish on the same design and its all new:
