Inspired by Great Art

Here is a great way to find inspiration.  My clients Lori and Brad have collected Maxfield Parrish artwork for years.  He uses shades of blues and greens.  Everything in the room can be inspired by and anchored in the wonderful Parrish prints that they own. Maybe this tactic will help you

Maxfield Parrish was an American painter and illustrator active in the first half of the 20th century. He is known for his distinctive saturated hues and idealized neo-classical imagery. You’ll see both themes in the Parrish artwork on this post.

I found a great combination of jewel tone fabrics in a modern stripe. My goal was to update the artwork created in the early 1900’s.  I also sketched an idea for a more modern fireplace and helped them pick out the tiles to complete the room.  I am proud of how we created an area they never used to one they now use on a daily basis! Finding that one piece that you must have in a room (artwork, table, fireplace design, accessory) is a great starting point for any room, and helps create a intensely personal design. What we have to do is take those various things you love and tie them together in a cohesive design. That is what makes your room unique. That is what speaks to you and about you.
