Our client, Suzanne, was inspired by the Rustic Chic room on by Design’s showroom floor. This style can be exemplified by the elegant style of the sofa and chairs upholstered in a kid friendly linen-type fabric. That combination of elegance and casualness creates the sophisticated, yet inviting, character. We added a wool knitted fabric in an elegant white on two Pouf ottomans. Suzanne’s two girls love to use them!

Suzanne and Scott have a beautiful view to the outside through a wall of windows. The trick was to arrange the furniture to maximize that view. We also mimicked the same linen look from the sofa in the window treatments. Click on an image to enlarge, then page through them:[nggallery id=157]

They now love the new spacious feel we created in our new furniture arrangement. That feeling is further enhanced by the architectural oil rubbed bronze mirrors that reflect the beautiful view. We then finished out the space by adding style appropriate accessories in the bookcases that flank the fireplace.

I totally love our finished result. The finished space feels like a retreat with the neutral tones and our focus on the view.
