A Warm and Inviting Living Room

This Room Sets the Tone of the Whole House

Jessica came into by Design one afternoon looking to furnish the formal living area in the front of her house. It was her first time in our store, and when she found out about our interior design service she was excited to get started!

The room is mostly used when they have guest over – but it is the first room you see off of the entryway – so it needed to be warm and inviting. You know what you’ve always been told about first impressions? Well, that holds true for interior design as well. natalie_chair

We walked through the store and looked and talked. I began to understand that Jessica’s style leaned more towards traditional/transitional. She liked several sofas but ultimately she fell for the Melanie. We took the rich traditional details of the Melanie (button-tufted back, Charles of London arm and turned leg) and draped them with a very updated solid fabric. The throw pillows add the pop to this great piece.

Then we paired the Melanie with the Natalie chair in a fun animal print. The Fulton ottoman is perfect for the kids to sit on when they have company over. Finally we added a cozy rug to add a different texture in the room and pull all of the furniture together. The warm rust colors work perfectly with the color scheme Jessica has going throughout the rest of the house.melanie_sofa_fulton_ottoman_interior_design

Jessica can’t wait to have company over to see her new furniture!

Thank you, Jessica, for letting me help with your room. I had a blast and it looks great!
