I met my great friend, Nancy, through our sons. Our years-long friendship developed through our shared experiences of raising our boys in Johnston, Iowa. Recently Nancy informed me that she and her family were moving to Dubuque. Her husband, Mark, would help run the family business – Sundown Mountain Resort.
They had purchased a home, and had a carefree, but colorful, Bohemian interior design style in mind. I was so excited to help here with her home and help her get started on their new adventure.
The Vanguard Furniture Custom Series sofas were a perfect place to start. They’re a perfect blend of simplicity, elegance and comfort. We kept them neutral and added decorative throw pillows for designs, patterns and color.
The amazing rug was a beautiful addition to the room. It’s 100% wool and is available in eight colors. But, the burnt orange added the pop we needed.
We picked the Zazu swivel glider from Norwalk Furniture. It has a tight attached back and seat, and added an sense of grace to the room.
Then there’s the piece that really says Bohemian: the unique and chic pouf ottoman. What fun.
