Good Interior Design Begins With Your Point of View

A Vision for Details Creates a New Home

My clients Kim and Todd were building a new home in Adel. They had a vision of how they wanted their home to look but weren’t sure where to start on interior design. That’s where I came in.

We began with the living room. The big Alessandro sectional and Harvey chairs from American Leather provides plenty of seating for when they have their family over to visit. The big ottoman is a comfortable piece that anchors the room right in the middle of the space. The patterned rug really grounds the space and blends the colors of the whole space together.

In the kitchen, there are a lot of unique features such as the waterfall island and shiny white backsplash. The furniture needed to complement that uniqueness. So we chose the Calligaris* Omnia ceramic glass dining table paired with the beautiful lines of the Annie dining chairs. The bar stools add some softness to the space without taking away from the main focal points.

The Office space called for function and style. Todd wanted sleek pieces with storage, while Kim wanted a cozy place to sit and read by the window. This BDI desk is sleek and is very functional as it hides cords underneath. Just out of sight is the BDI media credenza for more storage. The chaise fits the space nicely – and is super comfortable – perfect for a reading corner!

The favorite place to sit in this home? The fluffy rug! Just kidding, but it really is great! This rug was one of the Madden’s favorite pieces and is great for adding warmth to bedrooms. Calligaris wins again with this look – The Diamond bed and Mag nightstands and dresser provide the space with unique details that really make up the room.

The neutral colors all flowed throughout the home, making the style modern but also giving it a home-y feel. Details are key, especially with a neutral color palette. The details in everything from the architecture of the home to the furniture features were obviously very important to the Madden’s. We accomplished the Madden’s vision for their home as it came to life and I’m so happy that I got to help them through the process and make things easy for them. Do you have a vision or dream of what you want your home to look like?

Thank you Kim and Todd!
