A Design Completed…The Lower Level edition

I was thrilled to help Kim and Todd Madden with another project in their home – the lower level! They wanted a look that was different than the main level but still looked cohesive. The area was a long, narrow space so my mission was to find a furniture arrangement that filled the space but allowed there to be enough room to walk around the stairs.

Here are some before pictures of the space.

We went with the angled Kaden from American Leather. This angled piece was a perfect fit for the room – it allowed there to be lots of seating while still leaving enough room to walk comfortably behind the sofa. The colors in the furniture and rug really warm up the space. The Comfort Recliner fits perfectly next to the window and can swivel to face any direction. Both pieces are comfortable and a wonderful addition to a great entertainment room.

The media piece from BDI adds interest and pattern to the area. The two cubed ottomans are a fun way to add more seating when guests come over and are on casters which makes them a versatile piece for the family room.

We added a metal OIOS table for a game table and Calligaris (part of our Euro Contemporary Collection) chairs around it. This was a fun and useful way to furnish this corner of the family room, and we know they’ll get lots of use from this fun family!

This was a fun project, as always with the Madden’s! Need some help with your tricky space? Give me a call!
