How to decorate tricky spaces

Do you have any spaces in your home that you’re just not sure what to do with? Sometimes, entryways, foyers, and hallways can be really tricky to decorate…but I’ve found some great solutions for my own home that I’d like to share with you!

For our entryway, I chose the Tao bench from Nuevo. This bench is really cool and functional – and it comes in a few sizes (48”, 60”, and 72”) so it can work in many different areas!

Nuevo has a ton of beautiful benches…see below for more of my favorites!

As you come in from our garage, I wanted something sturdy and comfortable to sit on and take off shoes. So I chose the Calligaris (part of our Euro Contemporary Collection) Soap ottomans in this classic neutral fabric. They look like poufs, but they’re actually ottomans so you can really sit on them and they won’t flatten beneath you.

These amazing large, square ottomans (23 5/8″ x 23 5/8″) come in many beautiful fabrics. See below for some of the options.

Yet another tricky space at my house is the top of our open staircase.  It’s the perfect spot for a moment – but it’s not very big. So I added a tall leaning mirror to make the space appear larger.

I wanted to add a pop of color in this space, so I brought in two great Norwalk ottomans in a bright orange fabric. Ottomans are one of the best ways to add color because you can move them as needed.  I choose this orange fabric – but you can pick any fabric or leather from our wall of fabrics at by Design for any of our Norwalk ottomans.  See below for some of our other little ottoman options from Norwalk Furniture.

Come see me at By Design if you have a space that needs help and I would be happy to help you fill those spaces and make them look beautiful!
