It’s always a huge compliment to have past clients come back to the store when they have a new project to work on. At by Design we are thankful to have so many returning clients. Pat and Bob of Johnston were two such clients I had the pleasure of working with this winter. They had purchased furniture at By Design a few years ago for their living room. Now they were looking to redo their sunroom that opens out off the living room. My mission was to help them create a space that was fitting with the brightness of a sunroom, allowed more seating for entertaining, and brought in some fun color. Pat and Bob have a great eye for color!
I started by pulling the fabrics used in their current living room furniture. Because the rooms are connected, it was important that the colors and textures flow well together.
I chose a light blue Crypton fabric for their sofa that will be durable and practical for a space used for entertaining. A coordinating pillow fabric in a light pattern ties back to existing colors in their living room.
While in the showroom, Pat and Bob were really drawn to the comfort and style of the new Jana sofa. They customized it with wood legs and throw pillows instead of the platinum frame and bolster pillows to make it more accommodating to their space.
We also chose a couple Copeland chairs for more seating that could be easily adapted for various uses in the space.
We rounded out the space with a coffee table, end pieces, lighting and art that Pat and Bob selected in our store.
The space turned into a beautiful blend of tailored color and form! Thank you to Pat and Bob for being such wonderful by Design clients!
