You Don’t Have to Choose Between Style and Comfort

MODERN… BUT COMFORTABLE.

It’s really not too much to ask, is it? A room with modern lines, colors and textures that is so visually inviting and so physically comfortable that you love to live in it? And yet, it is a concern. Deanne, Angela and Laura took that challenge head on.

Practical needs included living room seating for five. The room should move effortlessly from entertaining mode to TV/relaxing mode. Seating should recline and be tall enough to provide head support (unlike a lot of modern design).

Discussing options and alternatives. Design is a conversation.

And this is where we arrived. What a great room!

Deanne’s room features the new Sarasota Style-in-Motion sofa. This great new power recliner features sloping arms and a tall ridged pillow back to provide that head support. Since we floated the sofa in the middle of the room (and have no floor outlets), we added battery back-up to it. Plug it in and charge it, then tuck the charger out of sight.

The chairs are two high back Stephanie swivel gliders. We love this choice for a multi-focal point room like this. Swivel to the sofa for a conversation or around to enjoy the TV or the wonderful fireplace.

EVERY SEAT IS THE BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE!

The tufted Baxter ottoman lifts to add convenient storage to the room. Other pieces include the Tinsley end table Modulus drink tables in gunmetal finish and Slate Landscape area rug.

The soft grays and blues are easy on the eye and don’t take away from the details of this Urbandale  home. We think we achieved that comfortable modern feel that they wanted and will love for a long, long time!
