Current Passion: Walnut Framed Sofas & Chairs

Solid walnut frames add richness to these designs

These new designs feel wonderfully fresh, yet they nod back to their style inspirations. Danish modern or Mid-Century-Modern style: They seem to be both. Three more designs from Kim Salmela that we love.

The new Gracie chair from Norwalk. Gracie has a much wider silhouette in the front than the back, giving it a interesting visual taper. Deep horizontal channeling details on the seat and back add both style and comfort. Gracie is contemporary and comfortable.

The new Bryant sofa was inspired by last market’s big hit, the Grace chair. Danish modern all the way, the Bryant has a simple two-over-two cushion construction with elegant tapering arms. Cushions are un-tufted making the design very flexible with many fabric selections.

The Grace chair was designed by Kim Salmela and was inspired by Danish modern design. It features a loose-cushion seat and back and is beautifully tufted for style, comfort and support. We have the Grace on the floor at BY DESIGN and have already placed it in several client’s homes.
